About Interpersonal Support Evaluation List

ISEL Scale originally developed by Cohen, Mermelstein, Kamarck, and Hoberman (1985) is a multidimensional 40 items scale, with four domains namely: Appraisal Scale, Tangible Scale, Belonging Scale, and Self-esteem Scale. Forty items of ISEL were rated on a 4-point ratio scale of 0 (definitely false) and 3 (definitely true). The present study measured the perceived availability of social support in terms of scores on the ISEL Scale. High scores on this scale indicated a high level of perceived availability of social support and vice versa.
