About Thought Control Questionnaire

Thought Control Questionnaire (TCQ; Wells & Davies, 1994). The TCQ was included in the study to assess how often individuals use specified techniques in order to control intrusive and unpleasant thoughts and memories. The scale provides 30 examples of cognitive and behavioral strategies people may employ to control unwanted thoughts, and participants indicated how often they use each strategy on a scale from 1 (never) to 4 (almost always). The items relate to five themes including distraction, social control, worry, punishment, and re-appraisal techniques, with six items representing each theme. The TCQ subscales show adequate psychometric properties (Reynolds & Wells, 1999)
