About Muslim Religiosity-Personality Inventory
The Muslim Religiosity-Personality Inventory (MRPI) was first developed as an unpublished PhD thesis by Steven Eric Krauss in the Universiti Putra Malaysia: Serdang. Later the modified versions were published in various researches by the same author in the later years (Krauss et. al., 2005; Krauss et. al., 2006; Krauss et. al., 2007; Krauss et. al., 2012). The latest, updated version of the scale was obtained from Dr. Krauss which was published by Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2016.
The mentioned scale has many merits. Firstly, it considers religiosity as a whole including knowledge, worldview, rituals and public interaction morality, hence doesn’t bracket religiosity in some convenient category. Secondly, it is retested and validated in different populations and areas. This provides it with a sociometrically sound position. Similarly, it also suits the religiosity concepts of the area it was originally made for. It is clear from the effort they made consulting the local scholars of religion for its verification.
