About Levenson’s Scale
This scale is divided into 3 subscales: Internal Locus of Control (I), Control by Powerful Others (P), and Control by Chance (C). Twenty-four statements compose it and respondents have to state how much they agree with each statement on a 7-point Likert-type scale. The Kuder-Richardson reliabilities are .64 for the I scale, .77 for the P scale, and .78 for the C scale (Levenson, 1974). Split-half reliabilities are .62 for the I scale, .66 for the P scale, and .64 for the C scale (Levenson, 1974). The test-retest reliabilities for a one-week period are .64 for the I scale, .74 for the P scale, and .78 for the C scale (Levenson, 1974). The P and C scale were analyzed in the current study. The 24 items for Levenson’s scale appear as items 47-50, 21, 51, 52, 53, 32, 13, and 54-67 in Table 2.
