About Bergen Insomnia Scale

Insomnia symptoms were measured using the Bergen Insomnia Scale (BIS). The respondents indicate how many days per week one has experienced nocturnal symptoms and daytime consequences of insomnia during the past month. Total scores range from 0 to 42, with higher scores indicating more insomnia symptoms (Pallesen et al., 2008). Cronbach’s α was 0.84.
