About Adjustment Inventory Questionnaire
Hugh McKee Bell (1902-1967) was born in Pennsylvania and obtained his M.A. from Stanford University in 1928. He spent his career at California State University at Chico, as a professor of psychology and later dean. In 1934, Bell published the first version of a test of student adjustment known as the Adjustment Inventory (later the Bell Adjustment Inventory). It included a series of questions designed to measure home adjustment, health adjustment, social adjustment, and emotional adjustment. This is the adult form of the test, published in 1938.
