About Academic Classroom Community Scale

As a corollary to the Social Connectedness Scale, we designed our own Academic Classroom Community Scale to measure students’ feelings of community in the classroom. To develop these items, we identified constructs in the literature that were relevant to feelings of the community (e.g., classroom climate) and transformed these constructs into self-report items. This scale included such items as “I feel connected to people in this class” and “I feel I fit into this class.”
