Types of therapy
There are many different types of therapy. The delivery of therapy may take place in a variety of methods, including, but not limited to, Individuals, groups, marriage/couples, and families.
Individual
In this kind of therapy, the only people engaged are the patient and the therapist.
Group
If patients are enrolled in a group therapy program, they may participate in treatment at the same time. It enables patients to talk about their experiences and learn that others are feeling the same way and have had the same experiences as they have by participating in group discussions.
Marital/couples
This kind of therapy supports spouses and partners with comprehending why their loved one has a mental illness, what modifications in communication and behavior would be advantageous, and what they can do to assist their loved one in managing the illness. In addition, couples who are experiencing issues with certain aspects of their relationship may benefit from this kind of treatment.
Family
In recognition of the fact that family members are an important part of the team that assists people suffering from mental illness in recovering, it may be beneficial for family members to gain a better understanding of what their loved one is going through, how they can cope, and what they can do to help them.
