Definition of Research:

There are many definitions related to research but here few discuss:

According to Babbie, 1998:

Research is a systematic inquiry to describe, explain, predict, and control the observed phenomenon. Research involves inductive and deductive methods

How we define research?
How we define research?

According to Gall, Borg, and Gall (1996):

Four types of knowledge that research contributed to education as follows:

                                                        I.            Description

                                                     II.            Prediction

                                                  III.            Improvement

                                                  IV.            Explanation

According to Collge san Meto Library:

research is searching for and gathering information, usually to answer a particular question or problem.

According to Martyn Shuttleworth:

“In the broadest sense of the word, the definition of research includes any gathering of data, information, and facts for the advancement of knowledge.

According to Creswell:

“Research is a process of steps used to collect and analyze information to increase our understanding of a topic or issue”. It consists of three steps: Pose a question, collect data to answer the question, and present an answer to the question

In the context of the above definition, we assume that “research is a process which we investigate and critical work in a systematic way to try to answer the problem solving and in this process, we also explore the new phenomena or maybe enhancing previous information or validate the previous knowledge.

Influence of research on Psychology?

The role of research is also very important in the field of psychology. The research provides a guide to understanding what people think, how they feel in different situations, how they act in those circumstances. It also provides help to categories of psychological disorder and their symptoms and impact on society.
