Behavioral toxicology

The study of the behavioral changes brought about by exposure to toxic substances. The field has been growing in importance as evidence that subtoxic levels of many substances bring about significant changes in behavior. Lead is the best example as low levels of lead have been found to be related to impulsivity and aggression in children and particularly in boys, as well as the lowered reading and math scores and lower overall IQ scores for both boys and girls.
