Behavioral contagion
Quick copying of behavior of a few individuals by those nearby spreads like a wave among a group often with a little conscious reflection by the copiers. This usually occurs when a new behavior is performed by
high-status individuals and is seen as immediately responsive to the unmet needs of individuals in the group.
