Aberration
n.
1. any deviation, particularly a significant or undesirable one, from the normal or typical. See also a mental aberration.
2. in vision, the failure of light rays to converge at the same point, due either to distortion by a lens (spherical aberration) or to the formation of colored fringes by a lens (chromatic aberration).
