About Financial Stress Scale – College Version
The FSS-CV is a 22-item self-report questionnaire designed to measure financial stress (see Appendix). FSS-CV items were generated by asking faculty, graduate students, and experts in the field of finance to compile comprehensive lists of sources of financial stress.
This resulted in an original list of 38 items, 16 of which were eliminated by the authors due to redundancies or low face validity. The elimination process consisted of the authors voicing the concerns to graduate students and a faculty member followed by a group discussion. Only items that reached a consensus for elimination were removed from the scale.
