About Child behavior checklist

The CBCL is a parent questionnaire for assessing problems in 4-18-year-olds. It contains 120 items on behavioral or emotional problems in the past 6 months. The response format is 0 = not true, 1 = somewhat or sometimes true, and 2 = very true or often true. The good reliability and validity of the original version of the CBCL (Achenbach, 1991) were confirmed for the Dutch translation (Verhulst et al., 1996).
Scores on two broadband scales were computed. Scores on the Internalizing broad band scale are derived by summing scores on the ‘narrowband’ scales ‘Withdrawn’, ‘Somatic Complaints’, and ‘Anxious/Depressed’, whereas scores on the Externalizing broad-band scale are computed by summing scores on the narrow-band scales ‘Delinquent Behavior’ and ‘Aggressive Behavior’. Scores on the Internalizing Problems and Externalizing Problems scales were used to include children.
