Inhibition

This is the opposite of facilitation and refers to a mental state in which there is a hesitation or blockage of action. There are different types of inhibition across disciplines such as social inhibition (social psychology) and inhibition (learning and conditioning), but they all refer to this hesitation of blockage of action.
