Favoritism is the inclination to favor some person or group, not for their abilities but for some irrelevant factors such as characteristics, the possesses, or their personal contact or personal preference.

Favoritism is among the most popular topic in educational institutions. It destroys equality as it brings certain advantages to people who did not earn them and it also hurts other people’s intentions.

Students sometimes start to feel mentally insecure due to discrimination, they lose self-esteem and think that everything is wrong with them. The favorite child often grows up feeling confident and powerful on the other hand the un-favored child perhaps stands to suffer the long-term effects such as depression, weakened self-esteem, and loss of confidence.
