Following recent expansions, the University of Lincoln has positioned itself as a major provider of applied psychology healthcare training courses in the East Midlands. Through providing high-quality mental health training and research, and by supporting the NHS to develop a highly-skilled mental health workforce, the School of Psychology is making a significant contribution to both local mental health services and to the well-being of the local community and is placed at the center of mental health developments in the area. We are looking to enhance our applied program team on delivering:

  • the PGDip/MSc Counselling (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
  • the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Programme (British Psychological Society)
  • CBT High-Intensity Training Programme (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies).

The successful candidate will contribute to the above program (s) and may contribute to additional undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the school, including supervision of student research projects.

The School of Psychology further has a purpose-built building shared with the School of Health and Social Care with an extensive range of well-equipped dedicated research equipment including EEG, TMS, Eye-tracking (Tobii, Eyelink, DPI, Ober, and VSG), Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound imaging and a 3D body and face scanner.   There are also specific labs dedicated to Psychobiology, Sleep and Baby research, and resources to support comparative / animal-based research in the field.

Based at the heart of the beautiful historic city of Lincoln, you will join a friendly and thriving department with an outstanding reputation for student experience and a rising reputation for excellence in research. The most recent Research Excellence Framework judged 90% of our research to be of international significance, with much of our work having outstanding levels of real-world impact. The University supports the progress and advancement of women in science and the School was recently awarded an Athena SWAN Silver award.

The School of Psychology recognizes the positive value of diversity, promotes equality, and proactively works to make our School an inclusive environment. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, as these groups are currently underrepresented at this level.
