Beck Depression Inventory

(BDI II) A self-report inventory for persons over the age of 13 years consisting of 21 multiple-choice items reflecting the severity of cognitive and somatic symptoms of depression described in the DSM-IV-TR and in Aaron Beck’s books on depression. The BDI II is one of the most widely used measures of depression in the world, having been translated into several languages and used in many countries with the popularity of Beck’s theories of the cognitive nature of depression.
