Babinski reflex

Also referred to as the plantar response, the Babinski reflex is a newborn reflex whereby the stimulation of the sole of the foot from the heel to the base of the toes (or vice versa) causes the newborn’s toes to fan and curl. This reflex gives an indication of neurological functioning and should disappear within the fi rst few months.
